Humphrey’s Cage
Our challenge for Maker Space this week was to build Humphrey a cage. In the book series, we learn that Humphrey’s cage appears to be locked to the human eye…but it can be pushed open. He calls it ‘the lock that doesn’t lock’. Take a look at our cages with ‘locks that don’t lock’. Ask your child about some of the adventures Humphrey has been on too! *some students slipped away without me getting their picture…I apologize for this!
Important Notes*
Tadpoles
Thank you Mr. And Mrs. Standard for bringing tadpoles to our class today! The class has had so much fun observing their behaviors and writing words to describe them! We loved the book that went along with it too, “Swimmer is a Hopper!” We were also inspired to make a story after these little fellows because one of the characters in our “Humphrey” series is Og the frog! We are putting our own twist to the story and the class is writing about their adventures with Og! Thank you for this awesome learning experience!
Read-A-Thon
We are starting our Read-A-Thon fundraiser today! Look in your child’s binder to find their “secret code” that you will enter on this website https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/enter_code_m. Next, create a profile for your child. Once the profile is created, they will receive a FREE PRIZE!! Please be sure to log your reading in each night. This will help our school raise money and it will also promote great readers! Thanks and lets start reading!

Recycling PBL
We’ve been working several weeks now on recycling. At the end of last week, students were able to choose (within their groups) a way to teach recycling to others. Take a look at what they came up with!
